Plymouth Children in Poverty welcomes our new Campaign Co-ordinator!

The Plymouth Drake Foundation and its Plymouth Children in Poverty Working Group (PCiP) are pleased to announce, after a rigorous recruitment process, the recruitment of Kerry Bidewell as PCiP’s Campaign Co-Ordinator. This is a new role as a result of the increasing number of projects that are being developed and implemented with our partners in the challenge to overcome child poverty in our city.

Maurice West, chair of The Plymouth Drake Foundation, commented “This is a significant addition to our very small team and an exciting moment in our campaign. Kerry will enable us to expand the efforts we are making to give more under-privileged young people the opportunities to raise their self-esteem, realise their potential and to raise their awareness of the opportunities that life holds for them. Kerry will enable us to engage even more businesses to become involved in our work, to grow existing projects and to work with new partners to introduce even more projects.”

Stephen Patey, chair of the PCiP campaign, commented “Kerry has made an incredible impact since joining our team and her experience with the NSPCC will also hugely benefit the delivery of our ambition”.

Kerry Bidewell stated, “I am delighted to already be busy working on some of the exciting and vital PCiP projects and I will be sharing regular updates… We will give children the helping hand they sometimes need. I am looking forward to collaborating with local business, other charities and Plymouth City Council, exploring all the many opportunities to develop further interventions at different stages in a young person’s journey along the roadmap of childhood through to adulthood”.
