At Promoting Children in Plymouth, we’re dedicated to supporting local organisations that create lasting, positive change for people across our city.

How we can help

Promoting Children in Plymouth offers grant support to local voluntary and community organisations to help fund training opportunities. Funding is also available through our Named Funds, managed by Devon Community Foundation.

Plymouth Training Fund

Our Plymouth Training Fund is available to voluntary, charity and social enterprises and must benefit the area of Plymouth. You can apply for up to £200 to help train any members of staff, volunteers and/or Trustees.

The Youth Hardship Fund

The Zone, in partnership with Promoting Children in Plymouth, manages the Youth Hardship fund. The fund was started in 2012 to provide Young People, who are experiencing extreme financial hardship, with grants when statutory sources of funding are not available to them. The Zone is responsible for distributing the funding to the young people that need it. To date the fund has paid out over £55,000; with grants ranging from as little as £2.60 to over £200.

Grassroots Funds with Devon Community Foundation

Devon Community Foundation administer the Plymouth Grassroots Fund, which has six ‘named’ funds that are to be used for the benefit of the people of Plymouth. These named funds, including the Trinity House Fund, were originally raised by Plymouth Drake Foundation, now known as Promoting Children in Plymouth, and matched by a government initiative.

These funds form part of a broad range of grant funding available to organisations from Devon Community Foundation to run projects that support people in Plymouth.

Applications for funding should be made via the Devon Community Foundation Grants page Small Grants of up to £5,000 can be applied for on an ongoing basis and there are several funds available, including the Trinity House Fund and the Community Grants Fund.
